PT 11.3 / OS 10.10.2 video engine won't launch

Yes, I know that Mac OS 10.10.2 is not officially supported, but I accidentally updated my MBP. Now the video engine stalls everytime I try to turn it on.
I used the installer called Pro_Tools_11_3_0_Mac_83829 as suggested on the Avid site somewhere (there had been an officially acknowledged problem with the previous installer back in December '14.) I also tried PT 11.3.1 when it came out today, but no luck either.
PT 11.3.0 worked great with OS 10.10.1. Tried to trash application and re-install + trash preferences. Did not work.
Any suggestions? Is there anyone out there who got the video engine to work with this configuration?
