Default Playlists "accidentally" created?

Hi,

I mainly use Pro Tools for film post-production, and mainly for editing and mixing.

Despite not doing any recording in a session, I somehow have ended up with multiple playlists per track.

Would anyone know how I could have "accidentally" done this - and how to prevent this in the future?

Thank you,

Mike

Where did the session originate? Were they in it but you didn't know? Did you import from another session? Not enough info to offer advice

Hi,

Thanks for the followup.

I created a new session, imported a picture file and .omf, then started editing.

At some point I realized that I had playlists but had not purposefully created them.

Best,

Mike

Was that a new blank session or created from a template? And the "picture file"; was that a raw video file or an OMF or AAF?

Hi,

It was a blank session, with a video file (mov) and an .omf

It was only after putting a number of hours into editing that I realized I had additional playlists; they were't there from the beginning.

Thanks

Is it possible that you have these settings enabled in your preferences?

• Send Fully Overlapped Clips to Available Playlist While Editing
• Send Fully Overlapped Clips to Available Playlist While Recording

Howdy,

Thanks for this - I did not know of these!

They are currently unchecked.

I am wondering if I accidentally hit a keyboard command which engaged them for a period of time...

Best,

Mike
