Default AV Option & HD - no luck.

Anyone out there having any luck with the plain ole AV Option with HD? I spent three days, half of them on with tech support. No matter what we did, we couldn't get the video to load upon PT startup.

G4/PT 5.3.1/DIGI 13 SLOT CHASIS/AV OPTION

Any advice out there?

Our records show that the original problems were due to the wrong software components being installed and an incorrect slot order. I believe this was all corrected.

Your last call indicates that the OS would not hold an extension set. At that point we recommended that you do a clean install of a new operating system. Has this been done yet?

I installed the software components your tech told me to....specifically, the video components in the DAE folder. I reinstalled the operating system. We changed slot order. We reinstalled protools and swapped out the video folder components from the numerous versions of AV Option disks, plus the update on your site.

Nothing. After 4 days down, my only choice was to go back to the old computer and MIXPLUS hardware.

Works like a champ. So meanwhile, my HD investment is sitting in my B room. Bummer.

Are you sure AV Option works reliably with HD? Because, like I said, we were never able to get it to load at PT startup.

And anyone else out there? Any success stories?

Hi soundasylum,

working with HD 2 with AV/XL about 9 month. It´s working stabil. G4 Dual 1 Ghz, HD 2, 192.
Have you installed PT 5.3.1?

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply, but my case is with the non-XL AV OPTION.

Digi is only loosely supporting it right now because it will not be updated for PT 6, unlike XL.

So again. Anyone out there with an AV Option (NOT XL) using HD?
