I/O input settings not defaulting...?

I'm running Mac OSX 10.4.2 with PT (TDM) 6.9.3cs3

Latley, it seems as though my IO input settings will not change when I press the default button.
I continually get settings that appear as all mono 1-8 or only stereo on 1-2 and then the rest are mono.
I don't recall having this issue in the past.
Why are the settings not defaulting to my 192 interface as in the past?
