Default Move Pro Tools session to Adobe Audition?

I am working on a new project that was recorded in Pro Tools and so I have signed up for Pro Tools 12 in the monthly subscription.

Whilst I want to complete it in PT, I'm far more familiar with Adobe Audition and wonder if I'll get it done quicker there. Is there a way to save a session (currently.ptx) so I can transfer it to Audition CC?

If not, I'll keep on with PT and search here for tips!

You can't directly import a PT session to Audition. You'd have to import the audio from the tracks one at a time. I've found working with multiple audio tracks in Audition a bit on the clunky side; much easier to do it in PT. Something that would help is if you would explain what you mean by 'completing' a session. Do you mean mixing, mastering, or what? You could do both very well in PT.

I tend to use Audition more as a fixit tool for individual tracks when it's something that PT can't do. I've also mastered with it when trying to get tracks to work together for assembling a CD which I then burn from there.

It's some radio dramas - I need to just take out mistakes, re-takes etc. I guess I'm just a lot more familiar with Audition having used it for 12+years.

Are you talking single or multiple tracks? Multiple tracks is way easier in PT. That's because you can see more than one track at a time and how it relates to others better than Audition (at least it is for me).

It's multiple tracks so probably will be easier in PT i guess.

I just need to get round a problem with it running slow (as per this earlier thread) http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?p...=1#post2256018

1. Consolidate all your tracks from zero in PT
2. Highlight those new consolidated tracks and export them (cmd [cntrl on pc] + shift + k).

Pretty quick process.

Thanks - by consolidate I assume you mean to link all clips from one track? How do I consolidate? I assume I can then export as WAV?

1. highlight the all the tracks from zero
2. Edit menu along top and click consolidate.

you can export wavs in mono or stereo. I do one export for mono tracks and one export for stereo tracks.

Great thank you. I'm on a fairly tight deadline for this project so the ability to consolidate tracks and export as WAVs into Audition will be a real help.

Once this project is done I can start playing around with PT more.

Export an AAF from Audition, then Import it into Protools.
