Default ot new ipod question

Hi anyone get the newest ipods.
I really want one to show off my mixes to people. What I want to do is dump my tunes into the ipod without compression. I want the original mastered 16 bit wave file playback in a nice small package. Thats a very important feature for me and I am about to order it .
So can it play back 16 bit wave files?
Thanks

Compatible codecs
iPod can play songs encoded with these codecs:

* MP3 (from 32 Kbps to 320 Kbps)
* MP3 Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
* AIFF *
* WAV (with no compression)
* The following require iPod software 1.3 or later:
o M4A AAC *
o M4P AAC (Protected) *
o M4B AAC (iTunes Store Spoken Word files) *
* The following require iPod software 2.2 or later or iPod mini 1.1 or later:
o Apple Lossless Encoder
ALL of the late versionsof the iPods can play uncompressed wav audio. They take up a LOT more space, and you won't get the half billion song capacity that Apple advertises, but you can do it.

In fact, I use my fourth generation photo iPod (the one betfore the original video ipod) to play wav files for system testing and show cues for my theatrical productions.
