Pro Tools and MFX Connectivity Software

My studio is looking at connectivity on the MFX to get it to read Pro Tools files. If anyone has any experience on the subject and how they rate the upgrade I would be greatful. Also if anyone has experience of getting MFX projects to ProTools without the use of A Server. I have a mac and I know the MFX will read a HFS partition but it cannot write to one which makes for a one way conversion. Is there is a work around using Fat partitions?
Any help is a bonus
