Chair for VO booth
The 23yr old steelcase stool I've been using, is finally squeaking and clicking
it's way out the door. Is there a high chair, (they're called stools) that someone could recommend? Criteria are that it be comfortable, arm-less, and Quiet. Thanks, JJ |

Re: Chair for VO booth
Years ago I found a good one at a local Billiards and Bar store. Buying over internet is convenient, but you can't try it out. Mine is armless, silent, quite stylish and still in operation 8 years on. Surely there is such a place in Boston.

Re: Chair for VO booth
You might try a drafting chair. They are available at the local office supply stores. Most have a foot rest ring, and are pneumatically adjustable. Guitarists like them too!

Re: Chair for VO booth
Every chair I've ever used will creak squeak and click after time, just the way it seems to be. A brand new drafting chair I have is great but is already making noise from deep inside the back rest. I found a standard height chair that I am very happy with. It is not a tall stool, maybe the OP won't want it, but it has no arms, is amazingly comfortable (padded fabric seat and back on a flexible frame), easy to roll around, and is SILENT. Good for a crabby guitarist or voice person. We've been recording audio books, long sessions day after day, and the talent is very happy. No chair noise ever. It's only downside so far is that the legs remind one of an elderly person's walker. I can live with that.
