Default What's the verdict on Core Parking + PT9?

I read a post from a well-respected DAW builder a while back who claimed that core-parking should be disabled for some DAWs but NOT PT. I have read about some people on these forums who claim they've seen improved performance in PT by disabling it. Of course I want to get the best performance I can out of my i7 system so I've been reading about it, but I'm always nervous about screwing with the system registry.

Here is the tweak I'm considering:

I'm hoping I can improve my low-latency softsynth performance with this tweak. Any thoughts?

Thumbs up Re: What's the verdict on Core Parking + PT9?

Well, I gave it a shot. I ended up using a different method than the one posted above. Here is the method I used:

http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus...ndows-7-a.html

The good news is that the engine doesn't stop anymore. The bad news is I still get crackles if I use FG-X or convolution reverbs at low latency settings BUT-- the engine won't stop and give me the CPU error message anymore. Cranking the buffer makes it run perfectly, so I'll just have to avoid using these plugins until mix time. I can use multiple instances of AirReverb + Q10 + CLA76 + H-Delay + L2 + Autotune at 32 without any crackles or engine stops.

Anyway, hopefully this info will be helpful to someone. It's nice to not get CPU dropout message anymore.

There are actually 5 different power saving items that can be turned off, read this.

Also after installing, know that on start up, PT defaults to the High Performance power setting. I set the High Performance advanced settings the same as the Audio Power setting and every issue with PT 9 went away.
