Play and hear instruments in record enable
Hey Guys,
I'm not that proficient in Pro-Tools (LE 6.9 BTW), so I would appreciate your assistance with a lil' something I'm sure is quite simple: I want to be able to play along previously recorded tracks without necessarily recording. Right now if I hit play while some tracks are record enabled, the previously recorded tracks (not enabled) play, but no sound comes out of the enabled ones. Basically this would be for rehearsing purposes. THX 028 |

Re: Play and hear instruments in record enable
Check/change your record monitoring mode. (alt+k)

Re: Play and hear instruments in record enable
OK. I may be mistaken since I have not tested this.
Try adding an Aux Track. Choose the input as the physical input of the instrument that you want to hear. Send the out put to a bus. then create an audio track and choose the input of the same bus. Then you should be able to hear w/o record enabling. If this gives you problems, then you can create an aux track and choose the input as the input of your instrument. THen create and audio track and choose the same instrument input. Play along thru the Aux track and when you want to reacord, record enabl the audio track but remember to mute the aux track. I hope this was not so confusing.

Re: Play and hear instruments in record enable
I'm trying to record a drum track using Boom insert - Pro Tools 12.8.3. When I record enable the track, I can't hear it. If I go to the track to switch to Input-only monitoring, that option is grayed out!
