I have the LaCie 2big Quadra 2 TB RAID EHD, not a LaCie d2 USB 3.0. Maybe I should get one. I saw the above threads about RAID drives not being approved by ProTools.

They make things look good, but no care is put into reliability.

I have never used G-Tech SDDP, so I cannot comment.

For a self-contained firewire unit, the Avastor HDX has been the most reliable for me. I have gone thru over 100 units for various projects. Zero failures or problems. Nice packaging for delivery to client also, foam padded - tight fit plastic briefcase.

For my personal work, I prefer buying raw Hitachi drives and using them with this:
