Trouble with Lacie 4big quadra

I have the LaCie 2big Quadra 2 TB RAID EHD, not a LaCie d2 USB 3.0. Maybe I should get one. I saw the above threads about RAID drives not being approved by ProTools.

Every single LaCie product I have ever bought died soon after the warranty ran out. Their power supplies and components are the cheapest possible.

They make things look good, but no care is put into reliability.

I would NEVER buy any of their products again.

I have never used G-Tech SDDP, so I cannot comment.

For a self-contained firewire unit, the Avastor HDX has been the most reliable for me. I have gone thru over 100 units for various projects. Zero failures or problems. Nice packaging for delivery to client also, foam padded - tight fit plastic briefcase.
