Default ptle on new intel core duo processors (PC)

i have a dell inspiron e1505 with 1 gig ram and an intel 82801 pci bridge 2448 chipset, with the intel core duo processor running at 2 ghz. I have an mbox2 with ptle 7. everything works but from time to time i get error "audo processing is confliting with other cpu tasks, reduce hw buffer size" then when i reduce it, it gives me an error "the operating systen held off interrupts for too long, increase buffer size in playback engine dialog." I see you have an update for macs running the intel core duo, but what about pcs? is this the problem?

Hi, I've got an Inspiron 6400 1.66 Mhz dual (same as yours, it only changes name in the EU). I get the same problem, and it's a week that I'm trying to solve it...it runs ok as soon as I use a few plugins the CPU starts hitting the 100%. On the Windows task manager sometimes the CPU shoots at 100% only by having Pro Tools open with no project loaded...tryed to change setings on the bios and set windows following the digidesign suggestions, but not much success so far...
I've posted in a thread ( Inspiron laptop and Mbox 2 ) my laptop details, please add yours there as some kind user is trying to help me out, any useful suggenstion for me should hopefully work for you too.
I'm not sure if it's because of the dual processor...and it seems to happen only on certain laptops

Have you guys done the dual core hotfix from microsoft??? If not do so, and ensure you've done ALL the suggested tweaks in the 'general troubleshooting' sticky thread at the top of the forum.

I bought an ASUS A6JA (Centrino Duo, 1.66) recently. I didn't try to push it really hard until now under PT, but I already did some editing and I really performs well, even with the built in hard drive. So, there shouldn't be a general issue with Duo processors and PT.

my cpu stays at about 10 to 20 percent, i just get those error msg's. i'll try the hotfix and see it that works, hopefully.

i can still use ptle but those pop up msg's get annoying.

Ive been using a digi002rack with a dell inspiron 5150 for two years and have tried every suggestion i could find on this forum and others to get rid of those messages but they only ever seemed to fix them temporarily. I finally gave up and i ordered an intel macbook pro a few minutes ago

I'd really be happy if you continue in my thread regarding the issue as I hope it'll gather as much success/issues stories as possible.

http://duc.digidesign.com/showflat.p...fpart=1#991972

About MBP, check the MIDI issues with MBP...
Don't expect the MBP to solve problems. it's a plain PC build in apple's quality.

I've ordered MacBook btw.

The reason MBP seems to have the MIDI Issues is related to the ATI Graphics. something with their windows drivers seems to get cpu usage or something...

I also wonder about Core Duo GeForce users as report from such users haven't been applied.

Thanks
