Default clicks and pops

I have a question about using a digital 192.

I have 2 different converters plugged into the digital 192 via the Adat lightpipe. I cant seem to figure out how to set it up without getting clicks and pops on at least one of the adat inputs. When I set the clock source to ADAT 1-8 those channels work great but then the other 8 click and pop.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

thanks soo much

Hi,

Do the converters have any external clocking inputs? word clock etc? you could use this and clock all the digital devices together with word clock!

OR

Make sure you have the digital optical cables connecting the converters, plugged both ways!! as well as having the optical lead going from the converter out to the 192 in, you also have to have an optical connection going from the 192 out to the converter in. so 2 optical leads on each converter 4 x optical leads. this way the converters will get their clocking from the 192 adat port. and you should set the clock from within Pro Tools to internal.

If you cannot lock all converters and your 192 together, do what you're doing already to clock the 192 to the second set of inputs. Turn on Realtime Sample Rate conversion for the first 8 inputs. There is very little difference in sound, if any, and the clicks will be gone.
