I believe it's just the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro w/retina display that have soldered on memory. The "non-retina" models all had replaceable memory as far as I've seen.

I don't think the OP was looking at a retina display Macbook Pro. All previous (non- retina) Macbook Pros had removable RAM.
