Default Outputting an 8 Ch BWF using Neyrinck or other method...

I have a client request that I produce an 8Ch BWF (5.1+LtRt) audio. I seem to be able to do this with my Neyrinck SoundCode Dolby E sotware, but I am unable to open the resulting .WAV in FCPro, QT, Etc et al in order to check it.

Wondering if anyone else out there has any opinions or techniques that I might be able to utilize?

Best,

Todd A.

Does the Neyrinck have a decoder as well? Why not import that WAV back into Pro Tools and decode via Neyrinck?

It does, but I would prefer to "QC" it in a different app. What concerns me is that I can't open the resulting file in QTPro, FCPro,Soundtrack etc many of those apps are fairly standard, and shoule open this file, no?

Yo!

As a test I created 8 mono files in PT of 5 seconds long. Opened Neyrinck Dolby E encoder and made an 8 channel (5.1 + LtRt) BWF.

I can open it in QT. In QT Properties, under soundtrack/Audio Settings, I can assign each audio channel to Left, Right, etc..and even Left Total and Right Total.

Can you not do that?

{By the way, he's not Chinese!}

Are you making interleaved files or 8 separate mono files?
