PCI Express-compatible Pro Tools|HD systems available soon

Digidesign is pleased to announce that PCI Express-compatible Pro Tools|HD® systems are in the final stages of qualification and are expected to ship before the end of the year.

Digidesign will be releasing PCI Express (PCIe) versions of our Pro Tools|HD core systems soon in order to offer professional Pro Tools® users the same award-winning performance on PCIe-equipped computers as exists today with PCI and PCI-X. Existing Pro Tools|HD core systems are designed to work in PCI and PCI-X slots only and are not compatible with PCIe technology.

Over the past few months, Digidesign has been working very closely with Apple Computer to ensure full compatibility of the forthcoming PCIe-compatible Pro Tools|HD systems with the all-new range of Power Mac G5 computers, including the Power Mac G5 Quad, expected to ship toward the end of November.

As we are now concluding the qualification process, we currently expect to ship Pro Tools|HD core systems for PCIe before the end of the year.
