Question Repairing DiskPermissions - always same results

Hi,

whenever I repair DiskPermissions, it'll always result in similar or almost equal results.

This is what it tells me right now after I already repaired them twice:
-----------------------------------------------
Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”
Permissions differ on "System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java/deploy.jar", should be lrwxr-xr-x , they are lrw-r--r-- .
Repaired "System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java/deploy.jar".
Permissions differ on "System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Resources/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java/deploy.jar", should be -rw-r--r-- , they are lrwxr-xr-x .
Repaired "System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Resources/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java/deploy.jar".
Permissions differ on "System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Resources/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java/libdeploy.jnilib", should be -rwxr-xr-x , they are lrwxr-xr-x .
Repaired "System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Resources/JavaPluginCocoa.bundle/Contents/Resources/Java/libdeploy.jnilib".
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.

Permissions repair complete
-----------------------------------------------

Is this okay or is something corrupt @ my system drive ???

Would be great if someone could "enlighten" (got this cool word from DUC - the movie) me

Sinful...working on Labor Day!
Satan has entered your computer...
unless you repent...
you have no hope for reparation....

You can ease the pain by consuming large amounts of Bar B Que.

I hope this sheds at least some light on your situation.

I have had this on occasion too, the same alert. it went away when I did a system update. i.e. 10.5.1- 10.5.2. etc. You can always just re-install your current system again with the same combo updater. Sorry I dont know what your error messages mean or how serious they might be or not. No labour day here either STeff

I would not worry, I get the same results every time I repair permissions, not sure why. That last entry, about the one that has been modified, there is a whole thread on Apple's site about it, it's some special file and reports that to everyone running repair permissions, basically.

I think there's something about those files that always reports that.

But just to say, I get that too.

Tim

Only in America do we have a holiday called "labor day"... where no one goes to work.
Then we eat too much and drink too much, and lay around and watch sports.. performing 2 of the 7 deadly sins, gluttony and sloth ( some of us indulge in a few others as well)
And we accuse others of being Satanic for working...... Some days I wonder!!??? ff
