Massenburg is the EQ of EQs. No point in Avid wasting resources on a Pro EQ when MDW is AAX DSP, IMO. It's expensive yea, but damn good.

Yes but is it a "musical" EQ good for music, or is it a surgical tool like the Neve DFC EQ which is perfect for TV and Film post?

Apologies, I went off topic a bit.

I do mostly music. I use MDW on my projects. To me it's both. Is use it anywhere I need an eq without question. There are certainly other options SSL, API, NEVE emus if you want/need emu color. If I need a clean high quality EQ ITB I instantiate the MDW. Again this is just my opinion. Avid could totally come out with the next latest and greatest eq with a character option but they're better off using the resource to get more users to PT 11 and partner with 3rd party developers to get more offerings to HDX DSP so that they sell more systems.

I can confirm this. If it's not working too hard, it is actally not that bad. Still, I only use it for testing and not in a real session. Massey's L2007 is too much better than Maxim...
