probably the kind of thing you see here frequently, but I didn't find one in the last few week's posts....

I've been using another software package and soundcard on my G4/400/512Mb for audio only. It was pointed out to me on a newsgroup for that software package that if I'm doing pure audio, I'd be better off with a PT system....so here I am.

I'm ready to order an 001 tomorrow, but I'd like to make sure I'm not jumping in at the wrong time....i.e. SOON to be coming upgrades, new models, etc...usually I'd spend a while looking about to check these things out, but I want to get started learning PT quickly. As someone who bought his first Mac, a 604e, 2 days before the G3's came out at half the price and twice the speed, I'd just like to make sure that I'm not missing a big upcoming event by a matter of days...
