Default track sounds different with and without freeze

I noticed a difference on a bass track I froze some plugins on, so I printed 2 versions- One with plugs in real time and one frozen.
Not only does it sound different, but the null test has A LOT of stuff coming through... WTF?!
Anyone?

Which plugins?

Not all plugins are repeatable (they intentionally have randomisation.) Reverbs are one that are often like that. Or items modelling tube harmonics.

UAD Ampeg B15N,
Ampex ATR

Also- the sound of the. frozen one is just worse, not just changing over time...

So both UAD plugins. I'd see if shuttling back and forth to the UAD cards (which have to do the processing) are able to work at the same quality in faster than realitime.

Not exactly standard plugins as ProTools (or the host computer) isn't doing the processing.
