Default Profire 610 + PT9.0.5 on HP DV7 Win7+64 "Crash" at Restoring Audio Settings **HELP**

Gday,
I Am trying to use my Profire 610 in PT9.
If i use any other device, including onboard speakers/headphones via Asio 4 all, PT works perfectly.

When i turn off, insert the 610 into 1394 port, power 610 on, then boot up, everything looks fine and 610 is recognised and adjustable via Maudio control panel, perfect.

I start up protools, it starts fine and I can see the 610 configured in the Hardware and I/O windows in PT9.
Perfect so far.

I "create new session" or "open recent session", this is when the problem occurs.

As normal, a protools series of progress dialods starts, but when "Restoring Audio Settings" progress dialog appears, it stops ie: The progress bar doesnt even get started.

Approx 2 minutes after that the following appears:

"Pro tools is unable to reacquire the hardware because it is in use by another program.
Please quit that program and then hit ok. If the hardware cant be freed, protools cant continue to run. In this event, hit quit."

I have followed everything i can find online ie:forums, including:
a) Disable all unnescessary adaptors
b) Remove any 610 reference in "laptop Audio Setup", but then tried
c) Made 610 Default in "laptop Audio setup"
d) Updated ALL drivers
e)Restored 1394 to Legacy driver

IRQ: I note that the irq is shared IRQ16 with heaps of other resources, inc Graphics, but as it is a "closed" bios (thanks hp!!) i cant do anything aboy it.

Can you please have an urgent look and get back to me asap, I use this for educational purposes.
Thanks

Default Re: Profire 610 + PT9.0.5 on HP DV7 Win7+64 "Crash" at Restoring Audio Settings **HEL

The Firewire port on the HP uses a Jmicro and, even worse, shares multiple IRQ with many other items. To resolve this I purchased a Sunix brand 1394 Firewire Cardexpress with the Texas Intsument chipset, it even now states 1394 Texas Inst in the device manager. Additionally, the Cardexpress is on a seprarate IRQ which means it does not have any hardware conflicts at all, and has maximum bandwidth.
The problem still persists
any thoughts??

Thumbs up Re: Profire 610 + PT9.0.5 on HP DV7 Win7+64 "Crash" at Restoring Audio Settings **HEL

Hey All, hope this helps

I had the same problem after upgrading to 9.05 from PT 9.03, I solve the problem by re-downloading drivers for Profire 610 and re installing the driver,

after that PT saw my Profire 610 --

My theory is that the PT 9.05 update for some reason corrupts the ProFire 610 drivers and the ilock driver (I had to unplug and reconnect my ilock after update)

I'm running Win 7 SP 1

let me know if that helps

Cheers!
