Re: New Pro Tools Mbox Personal Recording Systems
Cinemats,
The onboard DSP is only for adding reverb or delay while tracking in low-latency mode (which normally disables all plugins). Although you can also use it as an effect while mixing. |

Re: New Pro Tools Mbox Personal Recording Systems
Hi all,
The product description of the new MBOX family says they are fully compatible with other DAW and they will ship with 8.0.4 LE; then, they will work with windows 7 x64 and Pro Tools ... but, will it work really with native DAW - x64; i.e. Sonar x64, Reaper x64, Pre Sonus x64?? Thxs ... |

Re: New Pro Tools Mbox Personal Recording Systems
It'll be interesting to see how good the ASIO drivers are. Judging by their flamboyant claims, as compared what they used to say, they should be fine and let uses take advantage of all I/O the boxes have to offer.
Their driver team probably won't do the same for HD systems, or at least the current(haha) generation ones.

Re: New Pro Tools Mbox Personal Recording Systems
Stingray, the guy from Avid who's been answering questions about the new Mboxes, posted on Gearslutz and said basically that these new drivers to work with other software are a total redesign, and that they're somehow separate from the software which allows them to be updated more easily (or something to that effect).

Re: New Pro Tools Mbox Personal Recording Systems
Since i already have Pro Tools 8.0.4 installed on my system and have been using Mbox 2, will the new Mbox 3 be plug-and-play or will I have to do a reinstall of software and/or drivers?

Re: New Pro Tools Mbox Personal Recording Systems
You should be able to just plug it in, but there must be some kind of update, particularly for the new functions like the Driver Control Panel.

So i should be able to install the drivers from the disc without having to reinstall Pro Tools right? Should I uninstall my Mbox 2 drivers before I plug in the Mbox 3?
