SDII and Windows Platform
I was just wondering- does anybody know why the PC Pro Tools platform does not support Sound Design II (native Digi mac files).
I have a friend considering both platforms. Also- is it possible to convert SDII into .wav to be able to open a mac session on a PC? Any info is appriciated. Live in Texas Esteban.

Re: SDII and Windows Platform
its hard to believe, but true, that almost all PC sound apps cant read a SD II file.
I learned the hard way. Its very easy to convert a sdII file to a wave file with pro tools or soundapp. |

Re: SDII and Windows Platform
An SD2 sound file requires a resource fork which gets stripped out on Windows. Stick to AIFF or WAV.... I would suggest WAV on the PC as the bytes are in little endian order.. so more native for the windows app to read.
When starting a session, the user can select WAV as the session file type... that way no conversion between platforms is needed. Also check the box about enforcing Mac/PC Compatibility.. and the session file won't have a resource fork. Rail
