PT10 and Eleven rack problems

I'm a complete novice but have just bought Eleven rack with PT10 included. It is straight forward to set up and I can control the rig settings from PT on my Macbook but I'm not getting any sound/signal coming through. The I/O is set to Eleven rack L/R (input) and Main Out L/R, record enable and...nothing!
It should be plug in and play and it's probably just some little detail I've overlooked but someone please help me out here!

i'm new here also so welcome
as far as i know the i/o input should be "eleven rig" not "Eleven rack L/R". go to audio engine setup on pro tools setup menu to check if it's set to eleven rack, and then set the input i/o on the channel to "eleven rig", enable record the channel and you should be fine.

A friend helped me sort this out. Had to go to Playback engine, change from Pro Tools aggregate I/O to Eleven Rack and then default the I/O

Oplatner: sorry it is the Eleven Rig input, I wrote the Eleven Rack.
Any other suggestions from anyone?

try alt+k after you enable record the channel

I watched Benoni's video on defaulting the I/O. So my older sessions with messed up I/O settings will just have those extra italicized paths? Is there a way to clean up your old sessions that I'm still working on?
