I'm not sure if this is still the case, but historically, Digitest would always fail with 3rd party DigiLink converters attached and would only "Pass" with Avid converters attached. This was expected behavior and didn't mean that the HD or HDX cards were bad, just that DigiTest wasn't designed to run with 3rd party converters attached. Again, I'm not sure if that's the currently expected behavior, but that was always the case in the past.

yea good to know for sure. I actually fixed the firmware update. Taking card out and putting it in a different slot is what did it. Now I'm updated but protools cannot see the burl... so still can't work but progress has been made. Gonna try and system restore again, now that the firmware issue is solved. Maybe I can get back into 2020.12 or whatever last version was that was working.

Try putting your HD card back in the slot it was at before you moved it.

I was able to update in the original slot but PT would launch than after loading a session it would play for about a minute and I would lose all audio. I would force quit and restart but the same thing continued to happened and I would get a 1174 error. I had to remove my UAD2 card from PCI-E slot 4 for my system to work again. After the firmware update HDX doesn't play nice with my UAD2 Quad installed in slot 4. I also updated my BIOS to F20d but I don't think that was the problem since PT was working for the past week or so.

I ended up putting all my cards back in their original slots once the firmware update happened. Everything working over here so far

I'm using a chassis with my HDN card on Big Sur. Update worked fine so maybe it's a Windows issue?
