New Blackmagic DeckLink Studio ???

Anybody tried it with Protools 8 ?

I have a G5 Dual 2.3 running PT8 and a Blackmagic Card Decklink Pro (nor PCI Express)

I tried it for a few days.

Output via PCI Slot works very well and stable

I did nor test in real world all time production because I switched back to 7.4 because of the unsatisfing GUI.

I do not know what computer you have

On my G5 you can not use modern codecs like apple pro res or H264.
They use to much processor power and then video and PT sucks.

But DV or full HD Material that has been converted to jpeg video
works absolutely perfect.

Under 7.4 the same card does nor work. No HD ability

Under PT 8 even my old G5 and a non tested configuration seems to be workable.

I'm talking about the new PCIe card which is more geared for analogue video.

It seems very similar but with more analogue connectic.
