The point he is making is, movie production is not dead, media content is not dead, television just happens to be the way you're consuming it (or one version of it) you still see the content and those people still need to produce it and the tools that people used to produce it happen to be AVID tools

Just like the bicycle, the train and the gasoline automobile are dead because there are newer technologies...

All very interesting ... But back on topic...come on Avid - get your digit out of your orifice and sort what should be a standard issue with Mbox and el Capitan.

P.S. Kudos to thread author - succinctly put mate.

I run a hackintosh and there are issues with how apple handles the USB ports, on the kernel level

Something changed from 10.10 to 10.11, which is probably what they are dealing with....

Not an excuse just information

This seems to be the consensus - but at the kernel level? That is deep into the code. But why would that take so long for AVID to do a code compliance? I am sure they pay their programmers very well - - - are they all assigned to the Video stuff? Is AVID Audio the poor stepchild?
OR - do you think that Apple still needs to provide more info in an updated SDK?

I have no idea, but I bet that track freeze was more important than 10.11 update (USB issue)

And now that freeze is here, it's holiday time, so maybe Q1/2016?

I am running a Mac with OS 10.11.2 (El Capitan) and notice that my M-Audio Fast Track C600 no longer is recognized by the O/S. I have re-installed the most recent driver version I could find (v1.2.3).

Put me on the wait list for a driver update.

The only official comments that we users have received have been not to install el capitan. This is simply not feasible for the great majority of users. There are significant software barriers that require us to update our operating systems to the latest version.

We did not purchase entire systems from avid (cpu, storage, interface). We purchased the interface only. That indicates that we users will tend to use the cpu for more than audio use, and you cannot reasonably expect us to keep our configurations frozen until you certify. You have an obligation to your customers. Improve your communication and support.

amen, brother!!!

Dang, someone needs to inform all the networks. They seem to be carrying on under the mistaken impression that they're still alive!
