Default No sound from mic when armed for record

Basically I've turned every knob and pushed every button on my MBox2 and I still can't get a signal from my mic thru my MBox2 so I can test record some vocals thru input 1 or 2. can somebody point me in the right direction? is there step I'm missing?

any info is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Ok, let's try it:

1. Mbox: Connect microphone to Input 1
2. Mbox: switch 48V - button for phantom power if needed
3. Mbox: switch from DI to Mic
4. Mbox: turn up gain
5. PT: create new Mono audio track
6. PT: set input of track to Mbox In 1
7. PT: record-enable track by clicking the little "R"
8. there should be signal on the track's meter

Did this help?

If the problem is not hearing anything with record ready light flashing and not actually recording; press ALT+K for input monitor.

Let us know.

Are your speakers plugged in to the mBox or the computer?

Some more thoughts in no specific order:
  1. You see the meter on your mic track jump? So try to record it. Can you hear then what you recored?
  2. Did you try turning the Mix Knob on your Mbox?
  3. Did you try to switch input monitoring (Alt+k)?
  4. Is your track's output routed to your Mbox out?
  5. Did you try using headphones?
  6. Do you hear anything else from Pro Tools?
