Virtual instruments have disappeared after update
Hello,
As I remember I was prompted to update PT9 yesterday and now I find all the virtual instruments have disappeared from the menu along with many of the audio suite options. The files are still stored and old sessions still play the instruments and plug ins correctly. Any advice. |

Re: Virtual instruments have disappeared after update
Hello Dave,
Sorry ... I've been firing off so many queries recently. I'm not really tech savvy but I have used PT9 very successfully for 6-7 years now without any problems. I have a windows 7 OS running PT9.0.6. It was one of those almost reflex reactions to a pop up invitation to update the PT9 software which I accepted. The next time I opened up PT9 most of the plug-ins and all the instruments had disappeared from the menu. I have tried to wade my way though the on line advice but don't want to do anything that will amke matters worse. All the instrument files are still listed in the registry and old sessions still play the instruments and plug-ins. I have read that I should trash my preferences but that seems a bit extreme. Thanks for helping. |

Virtual instruments have disappeared after update
PT 9.0.6 was the final release of v9.
Are you sure you were prompted to update PT? The application has never done that... in any version. Perhaps you are confused with an OS update? Also, trashing preferences is not a drastic measure. Preference files can become corrupt and cause PT to do strange things. Trashing them will essentially revert PT to its default state. You’ll more than likely have to setup certain settings that you may have changed, but it shouldn’t take you more than 5 mins. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
