Default Mojave & hyperthreading off

Wow! Most stable Protools platform I have ever had. No spikes and chrashes....smooth.

Sorry, I just had to share it with you.

Out of curiosity, how did you disable hyper threading on a Mac/OSX? I am a noob on the topic but I recall it being more difficult on a Mac than a PC. If you could provide the steps or a link to instructions that would be awesome!

By using CPU Setter plugin. It's free. Link below:

thank you! I've read a lot of mixed reviews on how hyper threading being enabled/disabled has given worse/better performance with PT. I know I will want to give it a try sometime just for my own understanding at the very least

It really depends on your particular sessions and plugins used. If you are having stability issues try it off. Most folks should not need to.

I don't know but right now I'm running sessions with all the processing and hardware inserts at 32 samples buffer size...and in the meantime I'm browsing the internet and writing this post....Wow...this is insane....

If I'm dreaming, please somebody wake me up....or better not....let me dream on...

I can confirm this makes PT usable on Mojave with lowest 32 buffer -- CPU load behaves nicely.

Will this also be useful playing VI’s at low buffer size?
