PT 12.7.1 Graphics are sluggish!!

I am running PT 12.7.1 on a Mac Pro (Late 2013) with a LG ULTRAWIDE Display. The levels on my faders are sluggish and glitchy, and lag behind the audio. I know this has been an issue for awhile now but surely there must be a solution by this point, right? Please help!!!

The optimizations in the Pro Tools installation guide you are supposed to be following. Also up top of this page under "help us help you".

And OS version might help.

OS 10.11.4 El Capitan

Mac Pro (Late 2013)
Processor: 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5
Memory: 12 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics: AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB

I did not see any set up video for OS 10.11.4. If anyone has a direct link I would appreciate it if you could post it here.

El Crapitan, this is not a surprise.

Upgrade to MacOS Sierra. I'd go ahead and do that now vs. waiting for High Sierra. Grab a spare drive or bootable partition and do a full clean macOS install and install ILM and Pro Tools and see if the problem goes away. Do not do an in-situ upgrade.
