Disappearing edit and mix window 6.1

Just finished my first film dub after rolling over to 6.1. Very satisfactory after installing the dae fix for sync IO, but I had one reel that appeared corrupted somehow, including backups that would open on my laptop. Opened the session and couldn't get the mix or edit windows to appear via menus or key commands. Everything else normal. Fixed it by creating a new session and importing all the tracks. Any clues appreciated.
