Certainly not the first to say this, but...
I find it amazing that Avid found it more advantageous to tout a new version of PT where the biggest change is this un-asked-for 'collaboration/marketplace' stuff, as opposed to front-loading a new version with fixes and features from the IdeaScale Top 10, and making the collaboration/marketplace aspect more of a "Plus, you also get" component.
Eh, but who am I? |

Funny I can't help but think that what'll happen is, they'll start adding lots of cool features RIGHT AFTER the middle of 2016.

Re: Certainly not the first to say this, but...
what new features? they've run out of 'cool' features, thats the whole point of this phase change....all the software manufactureres are running into this, and this is one solution the keep thier 'gig' going......does anyone think they'd be doing this if there were anything 'cool' coming out in droves....they're in the milk it phase....

Re: Certainly not the first to say this, but...
All Ideascale is good for is giving the masses hope (false hope for the most part)
....Politicians form special committees to investigate public concerns to keep people quiet. Avid formed Ideascale for the same reason IMHO.

Incidentally, there's a bizarre belief that the only customers that Avid listen to are Post Production ones. Well, they don't listen to them either. Post customers have been asking for a very simple thing - folders in the clip bin to organise better - for over a decade, and yet nothing. Media management in general is very poor. I could give you 100 things I'd like to see in PT12...
