Omni HD - other setup

Hi,

I am using Omni HD with mac. Now I am in the situation that I should connect the PC to my 5.1 monitor setup so that I can play the game and mix it. Game engine don't have good mixing tools so I think I need to make this way and tweak sounds with pc and game engine tools.

I am wondering how I should get this work. Just plug the pc with optical to omni input and go like that? How the metering? Could I someway route it via Pro Tools so I could add some metering stuff in it?

This is little bit weird situation because this is first time when I need to make something like this.

Any advices would be great.

The omni only has 4 assignable inputs. I have a similar situation and I use a Coleman A/B 5.1 switcher to change my input source from my pc (analog outputs) to my mac (hd omni.)

I am wondering what is your signal flow with this setup? Now I have D25-xlr going between omni and speakers.

From my PC:

Soundblaster 1/8" stereo (x3 for 5.1) out > 1/4" in Coleman Switcher>xlr in Blue Sky BMC > xlr in to moniitors.

From my Pro Tools Mac:

Omni DB 25 out> 1/4" in Coleman Switcher>xlr in Blue Sky BMC > xlr in monitors.

So both my PC and my Mac go through my Coleman switcher. My PC never touches my omni. I just use the omni for Pro Tools and to monitor my Mac's stereo output for system sounds.

Not necessarily ideal, but it works.
