Pro tools LE stops at \'setting up peripherals\'.
I just bought a mac mini (2gig proc 1GB ram )with an Mbox 2. I downloaded 7.4.2pr and am running Leopard 10.5.3. I clicked on the LE icon and pro tools loads up to the point where it says 'setting up peripherals'. Then the loading screen disappears and that's it. If I click on the icon again it's as if the program is already running. I can Quit out of it by right clicking and load it again but the same thing happens.
I did the combo updater from apple I clean uninstalled like 5 times. i searched the Forum but couldn't find a similar issue There are no 3rd party plugins installed I tried removing the existing plugins I hope i'm just retarded and am missing something obvious. Any help would be awesome. thx - rob |

Have you done the other stuff in the problem shooting thread? Repaired disk permissions, tried from another user, removed all peripherals, and so on?
Is the splash screen still on? I.e; does it stay at the progress bar 'Setting up peripherals'? I had that problem sometimes when my harddrive was mounted while launching pt mp.

Re: Pro tools LE stops at 'setting up peripherals'.
Drop any external firewire or USB drives that are connected to the computer. Restart, and then try to launch again. Hook up your drives after pro tools is launched and running. See if that helps.

Re: Pro tools LE stops at 'setting up peripherals'.
i was seeing this as well - even without usb or firewire drives connected. it's either a specific usb cable or my powered usb hub or both? connecting my mbox 2 to my imac with another usb cable works.
are the leds (mic, usb) on your mbox 2 on? |
