There is a really cool web site I came across, full of sexy geniuses, that thought it would be a good idea to put all the info and links you need to setup an i7, Pro Tools LE rig.

So, I would start with.

this
this and
this.

After you've read those you could try making your way through this.

Seriously, smartest, sexiest, coolest peeps hands down.

Out with the old...and in with the new.

A new sticky on the horizon.

Why? The same reason why we climb mountains. Cuz it's there.

This will bring us up to HD 12 territory at a buffer of 64. Oh...no such thing as an HD 12. I guess Pro Tools Native gets there first.

Mounting instructions usually follows motherboard, but sometimes the instructions are poor and difficult to understand if your new to this. Don't you have a "computer nerd" friend who could help you with this ?

Applying cooling paste and mounting the processor correctly could be a bit tricky. Even more tricky is installing a good cooling system for the cpu. Sometimes there is very little space to go on because the cpu cooler is so big.

Note that buying a good and quiet cooling system is alpha omega to keep temperature and noise down. Forget using the stock cpu cooler because it's way to noisy.

Also buy good cooler for the cabinet and buy a proper power supply. At least 750 watts. If the powersupply is too low it's fan will run at full rpm to keep it cool. This makes the system more noisy..

I changed all the fans to 120mm NOCTUA fans. My system is pretty quiet now

I know this is a Recording thread but I must say Mykal your music is inspiring. I really enjoy how the grove locks and how you seem to kill the low end. It really sounds good man!
