Re: Cut the cord with Waves
I am perfectly fine with my waves plugins! Own lots of others but continue to use mostly waves plugins.

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
I don't use Waves plugins (almost) and in general may agree with this statement but they do have few good sounding plugins.
Lets put it this way: "Waves makes no unique quality sounding plugins". Having said that I use sometimes W43 for very specific "old style" alike colouring compression on my dialog master. And it works pretty well on some hissy material even better that my DNS One in particular cases. Not saying its unique but its fast and cheap, so why not. But they never got close in their quality to Equilibrium, Sonnox Dynamics or Avid Pro Comp and Limiter, Phoenix verbs and Nugen Halo or unbeatable Cedar DNS One. Getting the material from other folks using Waves in their work, I am surprised how they use incorrectly and abusive Waves plugins in their work. Its like : Waves don't sound very good so why do you make it even worse? Quite a mystery for me.

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
I cut the cord years ago with them for different reasons. I agree they have some good sounding ones, but in general I absolutely don't miss any of their lineup.

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
RenVox may be my favorite plugin of all time. Also use still RenBass on occasion. Might be time to put my Mercury bundle on the used market and just grab RenMaxx collection.

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
This is one of my favorite waves plugs....makes drums sound a bit fuller in the low end. Toms and kicks especially maybe snare sometimes, depends on the recording Renbass and doubler are my 2 fav waves.....I also use H-Delay quite frequently

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
Gonna check it out. Heard good things. I like that RenBass just gives the illusion of adding the low end energy while leaving low end space. I mix mostly bottom heavy projects. I like UA VOG also when I have the space.

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
The Lowender is awesome. The Avid Pro Subharmonics is even more awesome...but its costly a bit.

Re: Cut the cord with Waves
Pro Subharmonics is so awesome I bought it after the release, although I didn't know back then that the upgrade plan would include that. :)
