Default Orange sections in Edit window after quantizing

I've quantized drums on a section of a song and now there are two segments in that section that are colored orange. The colored sections are approximately 1/16 note wide. If I undo the quantize then the orange sections are gone.

Quantizing was done on all drum tracks as a group with Rhytmic elastic audio enabled.

I searched the DUC and the manual but couldn't find a reference to this. The manual mentions the delay compensation indicator in the Mix window turning orange to indicate the track reporting the longest plug-in and hardware insert delay in the session. In my session the Master fader track is orange and has a value of 1024. This leads me to assume that the orange color in the Edit window has something to do with delay compensation.

I don't hear any problems but I want to understand it to make sure I'm not creating a problem that will bite us down the line.

hay steve, surprised no one's answered you
and also surprised you don't hear anything wrong at those sections.
the orange represents a warp maker extending the algo beyond its boundaries.

sometimes, it means it "guessed" wrong where to place the event,
if lets say, the transient was more than half way between the correct beat and the next one.
(similar how in auto tune, in auto mode, it guesses wrong if you're more than halfway to the next note.)
in that case, just take the grabber tool and snap to the right beat.

it can also happen if it detects a double transient (mostly on the decay)
and tries to stretch that decay to the grid.
then, just opt-clic on that warp marker and lose that sickly orange-y glow!

merry, merry,
e
