Default (More) Ilok authorization error

Hello,
I know this has been discussed here before, and believe me, I have been troubleshooting like crazy. I have recently moved from mac to a custom built PC. It is working great (Windows 7 64bit, Home). However, I cannot get PT 10 to CONSISTENTLY recognize the ilok. When I install the drivers, it will sometimes recognize the ilok until I restart my computer. Then, I get the old error again.
I have tried doing everything the avid support document lists (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/k...ssage/ko430451) and the same problem persists. I even tried uninstalling PT10, installing PT9, and updating back to 10. Same problem: works until I restart the computer. PLEASE someone help. I am pretty desperate, I have some clients coming up and would really like to utilize the speed of this machine on their projects. I gotta say, I am once again incredibly disappointed with Avid.

A couple things.
Keep your network adapter active when you start PT.
Try the ILOK install using the file from PACE.
Run PT as an Admin.

dave911, thank you so much for responding in my hour of need!
I just tried that all to no avail.
I used the driver installer from Paceap.com after uninstalling my previous licence support. I then tried installing just that ilok driver from paceap.com. No luck. I then tried uninstalling that, installing the avid ilok license support, then installing the PACE driver (per their instructions). No luck. I am online during this process, so my network adaptor is active during all this, yes? Also, I have been running PT as admin this whole time. Thanks for bearing with me. I have not used windows for 5 years, but I'm usually pretty computer savvy. Any more ideas?

I should add that the ilok HAS worked on my machine. It will stop working by the next restart, however.

Lot of others have had the same issue with different fixes working.
I had the same issue - The network adapter worked for me along with waiting a couple minute after bootup to make sure all the drivers are loaded.
Could try different USB ports and check that the power management is turned off on all the USB hubs.
Does not seem to be one fix for all on this.

Very strange. The only clue I have in all of the ordeal is this:
Upon installing the drivers or a fresh intall of 9, I am prompted to restart.
Upon restarting, the ilok IS recognized and things are fine.
Next restart, ilok errors again. Something seems to be happening with the 2nd restart. ilok is recognized on ilok.com all the time with internet explorer (not chrome).
Any ideas?

Does the problem go away if you power down and change the ILOK to a new USB port.

Also, do you see the ILOK in device manager?

Ilok does appear in the device manager. Changing the ilok to a new port seems to make no difference. However, the ilok is never recognized in the USB3.0 ports. I really appreciate the help, dave911.

Your welcome, not that it's helping much.
I never fixed it completly in PT9 but could make it go by changing ports.
In PT10 it mutated to a problem where I needed to leave the adapter on.
Never even tried USB 3. 0 ports.

Not much in the way of ideas here except making sure your anti-virus is off during the installs and possibly doing a clean install.
Make sure to uninstall both the pace drivers and the ILOK support stuff first.
if you do a clean install I always use a partition backup like Paragon at each install stage.

Also, I would set the BIOS plug and play option to "yes" in case BIOS is configuring the iLOK incorrectly.
