Cant Install Pro Tools 8LE from software package

I bought a used 800mhz power mac G4 / 1GB sdram/ and Digi 002 also used.also bought used Pro Tools 8 LE software. System worked fine. I uninstalled PT (Clean), (for reasons i'm not sure of. I now cannot install PT from the disc. When I try to copy the installer package I get an error message.

Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "Install Pro Tools LE. mpkg" could not be read or written. (Error code -36).

I have never transfered registation. How might I do this

2 possible things come to mind here. 1-there were lots of bad instal CD's with PT8(solution is to download it if you are the registered owner). Or you might be able to copy the installer to the desktop so you don't have to run it from the disk. 2-what OS version do you have. Different OS versions will require different versions of Pro Tools.

I have OSX 10.5.8. I had installed the software back in Feb. and it installed without a problem. I have tried to copy to desktop and and 700mb into copy (Error -36) comes up reading " finder cannot complete operation because some data could not be read or written"
