Default Error -9169

Error trying to communicate with the DigiShoeTool. This could indicate a permission problem with the installation. Try a clean reinstall..

i already do that, works for a few then again….running 10.3.9 HD, clean install and 10.8.5!

Question Re: Error -9169

If you launch Terminal (/Applications/Utilities) and type cd /Library/Application Support/Avid/Pro Tools then press return, followed by ls -la and press return, what text is displayed at the far left of the line that has DigiShoeTool?

On my system it's -r-sr-xr-x, which translates to owner (root) can read with set user ID, group (admin) can read and execute, and everyone else can read and execute.

I'm reinstalling Pro Tools 10 on an older computer right now and ran into this error after a clean install. I tried the above and got the same results as yours.

Any further advice?

P.S. for anyone else trying this, with a director name with spaces, you need to use cd '/Library/Application Support/Avid/Pro Tools' in the command line (with the apostrophes enclosing the path).

BTW, a clean uninstall and a fresh install did work in my case. Strange, but true.
