midi notes disappear

I have an issue that has cropped up occasionally for approx. the last couple of years. Versions of PT's update but this issue remains. I will draw in a midi note or copy and paste near a bar line and instantly the note disappears. Usually I work around it by drawing the note slightly off the bar line. Even just just a sliver and then it won't disappear. Anyone else experienced this or know a solution?
