Default Midi off after tempo change (ticks)

Hey guys, I have a strange one for you:
I used DRT to extract midi from some drums, everything lined up perfectly.
I then changed the tempo of the song and the midi is all screwed up. Didn't change with the new tempo. (yes- midi tracks are in ticks mode)
I tried changing the tempo, and THEN importing the midi back, but it's all screwed up.
Anyone?

From the manual pg 736
Quote:
Tick-Based Audio and MIDI
Tick-based audio is fixed to the relative time of the
Bars|Beats Timebase ruler, and moves relative to
the sample Timeline when tempo and meter
changes occur. However, MIDI and Elastic Audio
events, and tick-based audio clips (non–Elastic
Audio) respond differently to tempo changes in respect
to duration. MIDI note events and Elastic
Audio clips change their duration when tempo is
adjusted,
while non–Elastic Audio audio clips do
not. Tempo changes affect only the location of the
beginning (or sync point) of each audio clip in a
tick-based (non–Elastic Audio) audio track.
Is this what you are experiencing...?

But... all is not lost...

Quote:
Sample-Based Audio and MIDI
With a sample-based audio track, all audio clips in
the track have an absolute location on the absolute
Timeline (for example, on the Samples or Minutes:
Seconds Timebase ruler). Audio stays fixed to
the sample time, regardless of any tempo or meter
changes occur in a session.
On sample-based MIDI and Instrument tracks, all
MIDI events in the track have an absolute location
on the absolute Timeline (for example, on the
Sample or Minutes:Seconds Timebase ruler).
MIDI events stay fixed to the sample time, regardless
of where tempo or meter changes occur in a
session.
Hopefully this will help you sort this out...

Doesn't apply here- I mentioned the track is TICK based and NOT sample based.

No- tick based forces it to follow the tempo. Sample based makes it stay relative to session start.
