Default So you can\'t "print" the effect to the track with RTAS plug-ins?

let's say i insert the orange vocoder on a track.....so now it has to stay on the whole time as an insert? once you find the settings you like can you print the effect to the track like with audio suite?
or....
i guess i can always take that particular track and import it to a new session......then bounce to disk with the orange vocoder as an insert.

then import back into the oringinal session with the effect already there. right?

if the same plugin is available in the audiosuite-menu, then you can save your settings from the RTAS-plugin, and recall them in the audiosuite plugin. Then let it process the file, and export the file...

If you have an audio track w/ a RTAS plug that you have finished tweaking, just send the output of the track to an avaliable bus, create a new audio track, assign the input of the new audio track to the bus that you just choose, record enable the new audio track and then push rec! here's the most convenient thing i've found:

- save the settings of the RTAS plug.
- get rid of the plug-in
- create a duplicate playlist on the track you're working on (give it a name that shows you it has an FX printed to it, if you want)
- open audiosuite version of the plug, open your saved settings, and print the effect to the track on the duplicate playlist...

... then by flipping playlists you can switch between raw and processed... easy to compare.

tom.

jeronimo has the right idea, there isnt always an AudioSuite version, friends.

Have you tried this, peter? Its quite often what is needed if your taking your session elsewhere that may not have your plug-ins available, as well as a way to save on cpu power on your own mixes.

Except if you've got plug automation or multiple plugs chained on the track...
