QUESTION ON 18 IO'S AT ONCE DOES THIS INCLUDE INSERTS?

So, there's the I/O table, I currently have a mix system;
Does if I get a light bridge; with say 4 8 i/o light pipe boxes;
can I use use the first 16 to do tracking with; The last two spdif to do monitoring with;
and 17-30 for i/o insert loopbacks?

(or do those count as active i/o's?)

And what is the easiest way to switch between them?

Is there any easy way to do the above and switch back and forth; say between a tracking
config; with 1-16 (two of the 8 piece) setup of tracking in's and the other 8 pieces setup
of outboard gear) while using the spdif for monitoring?
