Building a new computer for Recording only?

I'm currently researching building a new computer specifically for music recording. And yes a PC before anyone suggest a MAC. Im looking at using the DigiDesign 001. Any thoughts on system processors, motherboards, harddrives, chipsets, etc.,?..I've been told that I could build a cheaper system by going with the AMD Athlon 1800 than a P4 and it will actually be better? I've checked the compatiblility page and I don't see much that would help me as a new computer builder so I don't make it non-compatible. Any help anyone could give would be great....or anyone could suggest a COMPLETE list of processors/motherboards that will work with this setup could be located would be great too...Thanks in advance.

Go to the Windows configurations forum, there's thread called "Best system for under $900" posted by a guy called Allen Hallada, which has all of your answers. Also there's loads of infos on that same page on how to build a PC for 001: follow them and you'll end up with a killer machine (just like I did).
