This is interesting.

The Dock works standalone with an iPad and will be available in early 2016 at $1,199 retail – (iPad Air sold separately). The Dock also pairs with the S3 as mentioned above to offer a powerful, integrated, ergonomic, editing and mixing system for under $ 6,200 retail.

That looks sick. It is really shaping up to be an mini s6. I'm sure it won't be cheap. I had plans to do something similar DIY style with a dock sitting above a transport to the side. This is a more elegant solution with loads more features. The soft key page on the control app is exactly what I and others have wanted. Hopefully that page will be available with and without the s3. Nicely done.

Tom... Can the S|3 Dock work in conjunction with Avid Artist Series controllers? Let's say use the DOCK with two Avid Artist Mixes?

Yes - the Pro Tools | Dock will work with Artist Mix units when it comes out in early 2016.

I have to ask. Is the monitor knob as useless as the one on the Artist Control? Or will monitoring finally make it into Pro Tools?
