CPU spiking related to Edit Window size
I was trying to figure out why that total CPU blip kept hanging out at around 50% and occasionally spiking giving me a CPU error. I noticed that as soon I closed the edit window it went away completely. Resizing the edit window, the CPU blip position was directly effected by it.
Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a way to have a wide open edit window without the CPU blip? I've attached screen shots. I'm on a Mac Pro (mid 2010) 3.33 GHz 6-core with a AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072 MB vid card

It's the video card. I had same issue. Replaced card issue went away. I didn't even get a great card. I got the step up from 7950. I got a R9280x.
(But I had to get a separate power supply to run the new video card. Because I needed one of the pcie power leads for hdx ) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

That's weird. I've been using a 7950 for a year in my "2010" MP tower with no issues. I'm using both DisplayPort outs.

I know a couple studios with the 7950 with no issues.
I just had serious problems. I'm running 5 monitors. 34 inch. 29 inch. 23 inch. And 23 inch touch screen. And 50 inch lcd tv via display link adapter. I have no issues now since I changed video card. Quote:

I have a similar issue. I get CPU spikes when scrolling the edit window up and down while playing back. It's really annoying.
So you think a new graphics card will sort it? I think I have a Nvidia GTX 650 in a Mac Pro 5.1 12 core.
