Then starting from scratch by first installing PT 10.3.10 and all plugins. THEN PT 12 afterwards. I did this and got everything working a heck of a lot better. YMMV
Thanks - I'd be more likely to just do a fresh re-install, but yes it is an option.

Not impossible - just more fiddly. Clone and reinstall over. I know what you mean though - as well as the mac, I have to spend $2k+ on a chassis to hold extra drives and PCIe cards!

Not to mention that not all pcie cards are usable in extension chassis

Not supported just means they just don't have the resources to test it anymore since there are 3 more modern OS X versions that need the focus. I've used it and it works just fine on Mountain Lion. There are no known ML-specific issues. They just can't keep on spending time on every OS X version.

Is this what you're experiencing?
OK, so I've got a work around.

The plugins causing the problem are the AAX versions of:

LoFi
MasterMeter
Maxim
ModDelay III
Normalize-Gain
Recti-fi
Reverse-DC removal
Trim
Vari Comp
Vari-fi

Remove these temporarily from the AAX folder, and PT10 boots (in my case, after one "pro tools ran out of memory" dialog and re-attempt). Replace and it still boots fine.

So - something weird is happening that I've not seen documented elsewhere, but it's work-round-able.
