Default Front end upgrade....

I am looking to upgrade my signal chain and would appreciate some advice. I am currently using an ADK A51s mic which I really like a lot, of course I will continue buying mics as I can afford them. I will have about 1600.00 to spend and was thinking of the following options:
1. Grace Design 101 mic pre, FRM RNC, and Lucid AD9624 (or RME/Nuendo if I had enough cash).
I know the Grace is a great mic pre but I am worried that it might be a little too clean going digital. If anyone has experince with this mic pre and the 001, let me know how it works.
2. Vintech 1272 or Brent Averill 1272 or Manley Mono Mic Pre or Great River MP2 (I hear the GR is a pretty clean mic pre with no coloration) and RNC. I wouldnt be able to afford an AD converter at this time.
Thanks,
Ron
